Simon Fowler is a Lecturer in Programming Language Foundations at the University of Glasgow School of Computing Science, where he leads the Programming Languages Theme. He holds a PhD from the University of Edinburgh's School of Informatics and has prior experience as a Research Software Engineer there. His research focuses on behavioral types, session types, and functional programming, aiming to enhance safety in concurrent and distributed systems. Fowler is Glasgow's representative at the Scottish Programming Languages Institute and actively contributes to the STARDUST project on reliable distributed systems.
