Simon Czermak is a Lecturer in the Department of Management & Law at the Management Center Innsbruck (MCI), where he has been active since 2013. His roles include teaching economics, statistics, and marketing, as well as supervising student theses and research projects. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics (2009) and a Magister (Master's) in Business Administration (2005), both from the University of Innsbruck.
His research focuses on experimental economics, behavioral economics, and strategic decision-making. Notable projects include studies on incentives for dishonesty in auditing, gender differences in competition, and strategic behavior in game theory. He has collaborated with institutions like Trent University (School of Business) on strategic investment decisions in small firms.
Awarded the 2009 Tyrol Chamber of Commerce Science Prize for his dissertation on SME innovation, Czermak has also received research support from Hypo Tirol Bank and the Tyrolean Science Fund. He has supervised numerous theses on topics ranging from digital marketing to financial literacy and corporate sustainability.
His academic contributions include peer-reviewed publications in Economic Inquiry, Experimental Economics, and Journal of Economic Behavior & Organization. Active in conference presentations, he has discussed findings on biased decision-making, personality traits in auditing, and age-related strategic thinking.
