Simon Birnbach is a Junior Research Fellow and Senior Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Oxford, affiliated with the Systems Security Lab led by Professor Ivan Martinovic. His research focuses on securing cyber-physical systems, particularly in smart homes, aviation, and aerospace domains. He holds a DPhil (Oxford), MSc (Kaiserslautern, Germany), and BSc (Kaiserslautern, Germany).
His work addresses critical security challenges such as satellite fingerprinting resilience, drone privacy invasion detection, and verifying smart home events via collaborative sensors.
