Simon Andrews is a Lecturer and Course Leader for the Sustainable Product Design programme at Falmouth University. He also serves as an Honorary Research Fellow at the Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust. His research focuses on design’s impact on health and wellbeing, including projects like a beach wheelchair for Cornwall Mobility and hip-protective clothing for at-risk groups. He holds a PhD from the University of the Arts London/Falmouth University on hip protector design innovation.
Qualifications include a PhD (2025), PGCert ED (2005), MA Product Design (2001), and BA (Hons) Furniture & Product Design (1999). His expertise spans sustainable design strategies, design pedagogy, and digital design tools. He has organized major exhibitions, including the Birmingham Made Me Design Expo (2012) and collaborations with Global Color Research at the Interiors Show (2008–2013).
