Her educational background includes:
- Degree in Economics with honors from Sapienza University of Rome
- PhD (XX cycle) completed in June 2008 from the University of Foggia (won the competition in December 2004)
Professor Solimene's research focuses on business administration, accounting, and corporate governance. Her work examines methodologies for estimating economic value of companies, principles for drafting budgets, and management within public companies. She has extensive research on intangible assets, performance indicators, and related corporate disclosures. Her research also explores gender diversity in corporate governance, environmental and social disclosures, and the relationship between corporate performance and voluntary disclosure.
Analysis of her recent publications shows a strong focus on corporate social responsibility, ESG disclosure, and business model innovation. Her work bridges theoretical frameworks with empirical studies, particularly examining how institutional context affects corporate reporting practices. There's a clear trend toward multi-stakeholder approaches in her research, with increasing attention to environmental sustainability and biodiversity disclosure in recent years.
Professor Solimene is actively involved in research projects including "Covid-19, aggregate shocks, and zombie firms: identification and policy issues" and "The Intensity of the Relationship between Performance and Voluntary Disclosure as a Value Driver of Intellectual Capital, from a Multi-stakeholder Perspective." She has collaborated extensively with Professor Zanda on research related to intangible assets and corporate disclosure practices.
She maintains regular office hours during the second semester (Tuesdays 12-13 and Wednesdays 10-12) and utilizes the Classroom platform for course materials and student communication.
