Silvia Bortot

Silvia Bortot is an Associate Professor in the Department of Economics and Management at the University of Trento, holding this position since September 2018. She previously served as a Ricercatrice (Researcher) in the same department from 2005, with confirmation in 2010. She earned a Degree in Mathematics from the University of Trento in 1998 and a PhD in Mathematics for Economic Decisions (University of Trieste) in 2004.

Her research focuses on multi-criteria decision analysis, welfare economics, and decision theory. Key areas include aggregation functions, Choquet integrals, and binomial decomposition of welfare functions, with applications to inequality indices and consensus dynamics in multi-agent systems.

Dr. Bortot has organized conferences such as the 89th EWG-MCDA Meeting (2019) and the AMASES 2008 conference. She is affiliated with groups like MEDIA (University of Trento) and the EUSFLAT FULDESS working group, contributing to fuzzy logic applications in social sciences. She has also held visiting roles at the University of Valladolid.

Her teaching spans undergraduate and graduate courses in mathematics and quantitative methods for economics, including roles as course leader and instructor for over 20 years.
