معرفی
Dr. Sile Brennan is a Reader at Ulster University, affiliated with the Belfast School of Architecture and the Built Environment. Her work focuses on hydrogen safety, CFD modeling, and combustion dynamics. She has led European projects like HyResponder and contributed to hydrogen standardization efforts.
- Education:
- BEng in Mechanical Engineering from University College Dublin
- PhD from Queen’s University Belfast
Research Interests
Dr. Brennan's research centers on hydrogen safety, particularly CFD modeling of hydrogen and methane blends, ignition dynamics, and risk assessment. Her work addresses indoor hydrogen releases, garage scenarios, and ventilation systems, contributing to European standardization. Key projects include pre-normative research for HyIndoor and H2FC infrastructure.
Her recent articles focus on pressure peaking in enclosed spaces, flame stability under varying vent conditions, and hydrogen-methane blends for domestic networks, reflecting trends in hydrogen safety, CFD validation, and urban infrastructure.
Scientific Contributions
- Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy
- Coordinator of European Technical School on Hydrogen and Fuel Cells
- Advisor for HySAFER research center since 2007
Advising and Collaboration
Dr. Brennan has mentored students and contributed to European research contracts including HyIndoor and H2FC. She actively collaborates with institutions like China University of Mining and Technology (Beijing) and engages in invited talks on hydrogen safety.
