Sikunder Ali is an Associate Professor in Mathematics Didactics at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), Department of Teacher Education, Faculty of Social and Educational Sciences. His research bridges mathematics education with critical sociology, ethics, and social justice, focusing on how mathematical practices shape moral orders and democratic participation.

Recent work examines ethical citizenship under pandemic conditions, immigrant youth learning experiences, and algorithmic critique. He actively disseminates research through invited international keynotes and publications with Springer, IntechOpen, and EARLI.

Ali’s interdisciplinary approach informs his role as guest lecturer on research methodology at Nord University, and his collaborations with institutions in Sweden, Pakistan, and Ethiopia. His upcoming public lecture in New York (2025) will address Norwegian culture through global citizenship frameworks.
