Siiri Scott is a Professor of the Practice and Head of Acting and Directing at the University of Notre Dame's Department of Film, Television, and Theatre (College of Arts and Letters). She has served in this role for 27 years, teaching advanced acting, voice, dialect, and movement. Affiliations include the Initiative on Race and Resilience, the Nanovic Institute for European Studies, and the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama (London as a Guest Lecturer). Her work spans stage, screen, and audiobook narration, with over 100 audiobooks recorded, including award-winning titles like 'White Torture' (2023 Nobel Peace Prize winner). She directs and produces with Irish Theatre of Chicago and Theatre Nohgaku, emphasizing anti-racist pedagogy and inclusive performance practices.
Education: MFA in Acting (DePaul University), BA in Humanistic Studies/Theatre (Saint Mary’s College). Awards include the Edmund P. Joyce Teaching Award and multiple Emmy recognitions. Research interests focus on dismantling racial inequities in theatre education and performance.
