Sigrun Andradottir is a Professor in the H. Milton Stewart School of Industrial and Systems Engineering at Georgia Tech. She joined the faculty in 1995, prior to which she was at the University of Wisconsin-Madison from 1990. Her research focuses on stochastic optimization, simulation methodologies, and applied probability with applications to queueing systems, resource allocation, and revenue management.
She holds a B.S. in Mathematics (1986) from the University of Iceland, and both an M.S. in Statistics (1989) and a Ph.D. in Operations Research (1990) from Stanford University. Her work bridges theoretical advancements in stochastic systems and practical implementations in dynamic environments.
Key research themes include optimizing server coordination in queueing networks, stochastic constraint handling in selection procedures, and pandemic outbreak modeling. Her contributions have addressed challenges in service systems design, computational efficiency in parallel simulations, and resilience through flexible resource allocation strategies.
Her expertise is recognized through affiliations with INFORMS and the Operations Research community. Notable achievements include foundational work in simulation optimization algorithms and the analysis of non-collaborative server dynamics in complex systems.
