A. Univ.-Prof. Dr. Sigmar Stadlmeier is an Associate Professor and Head of the Institute of Public International Law and International Relations at the Faculty of Law, Johannes Kepler University Linz (since 2009). He holds an LL.M. from the London School of Economics and a doctorate from JKU Linz. His career includes roles as Deputy Head of the Institute (2002–2009), Visiting Professor at multiple international universities, and a Jean Monnet Chair (2002–2007). He specializes in Public International Law, European Law, Air and Space Law, and International Economic Relations.
Education:
- 1983–1988: Undergraduate Studies in Law at JKU Linz
- 1988–1991: Doctorate in Law at JKU Linz
- 1990: Summer School at European University Institute (Florence)
- 1991–1992: LL.M. in EU Law, Air Law, and Public International Law at LSE
- 1997: Habilitation (venia docendi) in European Law and Public International Law at JKU Linz
Research focuses on international legal frameworks, aviation law, and European integration. He teaches courses on Public International Law, Air and Space Law, and International Economic Relations. His memberships include the European Air Law Association and the German Society for International Law. He has advised on legal matters in aviation and humanitarian law.
