Sifat-E Rabbani is a researcher at the Department of English, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, Carleton University. They hold an M.A. from McMaster University and a B.A. from the University of Chittagong. Their research focuses on South Asian literature, gender studies, postcolonial literature, Canadian literature, and migration and diaspora studies.
Current research explores first- and second-generation South Asian women’s literature, focusing on gendered migration and the representation of immigrant life transitions in fiction, memoirs, and films. They presented their work on resilience models in David Chariandy’s Brother at the 2021 Canadian Association for Commonwealth Literature and Language Studies (CACLALS) conference.
