Siew Lim

Dr Siew Lim is a Senior Research Fellow at Monash University's Eastern Health Clinical School and Victorian Heart Institute (VHI), specializing in health equity and women's reproductive health with a focus on gestational diabetes. She holds a PhD in Physiology from CSIRO, an MND in Nutrition and Dietetics from Flinders University, and a BSc in Biomedical Science from the University of Adelaide. Recognized nationally and internationally, she leads interdisciplinary projects addressing chronic disease prevention through lifestyle interventions, particularly targeting postpartum women at metabolic risk.

Her research integrates implementation science, mixed-methods approaches, and collaboration with global experts in fields like endocrinology, obstetrics, and public health. Key projects include developing scalable interventions for primary care settings and addressing inequities in gestational diabetes management through cultural frameworks. Lim chairs Equity, Diversity, and Inclusivity at the Nutrition Society of Australia and volunteers as a dietitian for community organizations.

Recent work includes co-designing lifestyle programs for postpartum weight retention reduction, analyzing geographic disparities in gestational diabetes, and evaluating barriers to diabetes prevention in diverse populations. She has secured grants such as NHMRC Partnership grants and the NHF Vanguard grant to advance real-world interventions.

Lim's awards include the National Health and Medical Research Council Early Career Fellowship (2018) and the Incubator Grant: Bolster Category (2023). Her contributions align with UN Sustainable Development Goals related to health equity and gender equality.
