Sierra Williams

Sierra Williams is faculty in the Chemistry department at the Keck Science Department of Claremont Colleges. She leads research focused on protein therapeutics and chemical synthesis to combat harmful pathogens.

Her research interests include protein engineering, drug development, and improving endolysin activity for antimicrobial applications. Her lab employs chemical synthesis techniques to develop potential therapeutic agents.

Her recent work trends show a strong focus on protein-based therapeutics, with particular attention to engineering approaches that enhance antimicrobial activity. The research spans biochemistry, chemical biology, and pharmaceutical development.

Dr. Williams has successfully mentored numerous undergraduate researchers, many of whom have received competitive awards and secured positions in prestigious medical and graduate programs.

Her lab was recently awarded a $457,000 NIH R15 grant to develop tools for improving endolysin activity, demonstrating significant research impact and funding success.
