Sibyl Diver is a Lecturer in Stanford University's Earth Systems Program and Co-Director of the Stanford Environmental Justice Working Group. Her community-engaged research focuses on Indigenous water governance and co-management arrangements in Pacific Northwest salmon watersheds. She partners with Indigenous communities like the Karuk Tribe to study collaborative environmental management and ecological restoration.
Her current work includes leading a social impact assessment of Klamath River dam removal with the Karuk Tribe. She investigates how collaborative management arrangements between Indigenous nations and state agencies support ecological restoration and community self-determination.
With over two decades of experience working with Indigenous communities around the North Pacific, her research integrates Indigenous knowledge systems with environmental science. She teaches courses in environmental governance and environmental justice.
