Prof. Sibin Mohan is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science at The George Washington University, holding an adjunct faculty role at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He completed his Ph.D. and M.S. in Computer Science at North Carolina State University, and his B.E. in Computer Science and Engineering at Bangalore University. His research focuses on security and resiliency in cyber-physical systems, autonomous systems, and real-time systems, with notable contributions to scheduler security, intrusion detection, and software-defined networking applications.
Education: B.E. (Bangalore University, 2001), M.S. (North Carolina State University, 2004), Ph.D. (North Carolina State University, 2008). Previous roles include postdoctoral researcher at UIUC and Research Scientist at the Information Trust Institute.
Research interests include security for CPS, autonomous systems, real-time scheduling vulnerabilities (e.g., ScheduLeak), anomaly detection (SecureCore, S3A), and cloud computing isolation. He has pioneered defenses against side-channel attacks in embedded systems and developed frameworks like ReSecure for resilient systems.
Awards include the NSF CAREER Award and multiple best paper recognitions at IEEE RTSS. His teaching spans secure autonomous systems, systems programming, and CPS design, with active involvement in student mentorship and academic leadership.
