Dr. Shushu Jiang is an Assistant Professor of Accounting at the National University of Singapore (NUS Business School). She holds a Ph.D. in Accounting from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor's in Accounting from Zhejiang University. Her research focuses on the contracting role of accounting, debt contracting, credit markets, sustainability (ESG), non-profit accountability, and banking/finance regulatory frameworks. She teaches courses such as Corporate Accounting & Reporting I and Intermediate Financial Accounting II.
Her work bridges accounting practices with real-world applications, including studies on environmental enforcement's impact on lender behavior, transparency in government procurement, and the effects of political uncertainty on corporate disclosures. She has contributed to leading journals like the Journal of Accounting and Economics and Journal of International Business Studies.
Dr. Jiang's research often addresses emerging markets and institutional contexts, emphasizing how public and private mechanisms interact to enhance accountability and efficiency. Her teaching activities reflect a commitment to equipping students with rigorous analytical skills in financial reporting and sustainability metrics.
