Shuree Sarantuya

Shuree Sarantuya is a media artist and lecturer at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne (KHM), specializing in visual effects and 3D design. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Film and Broadcast Directing from the Mongolian State University of Arts and Culture (2016) and completed a Master's program in Media Arts with a focus on game engine-based video installations at KHM (2024). Her research explores the intersection of technology and cultural preservation, particularly documenting the last nomadic tribes of North, East, and Central Asia through experimental practices involving computer-generated imagery and Unreal Engine 5.

Teaching roles include leading the Engine Club (student club for Unreal Engine 5 and game development) and co-teaching the Basic Seminar 3D Design II: Building, focusing on advanced 3D modeling, shader development, and world-building. These courses emphasize practical workshops and project-based learning, aiming to bridge technical skills with artistic expression.

Her work combines technical expertise in digital art with socio-cultural themes, often resulting in exhibitions, interactive installations, and collaborative projects. She actively contributes to the KHM's facilities, including the exMedia Lab and CG-Lab, fostering innovation in virtual production and spatial design.
