Shuo Sun is an Assistant Professor of Physics at the University of Colorado Boulder and an Associate Fellow at JILA, a joint research institute of the university and NIST. His research focuses on quantum optics, nanophotonics, and experimental quantum information science. He investigates strong light-matter interactions at the quantum limit using solid-state artificial atoms coupled with nanophotonic structures. These studies explore new phenomena in quantum optics and many-body quantum physics while developing chip-integrated quantum photonic devices for applications in quantum networking and sensing.
His work emphasizes the design flexibility of nanophotonic platforms to advance both fundamental science and practical quantum technologies. Sun's group maintains an active research program with a dedicated lab space at JILA (Office X460). For more details, visit his publications page.
