Shontrai D. Irving

Shontrai D. Irving is a Clinical Associate Professor of Business Law at Purdue University Northwest (PNW) since 2014, teaching undergraduate and graduate courses. He holds a J.D. from Indiana University Maurer School of Law, an MBA from PNW, and an MA in Criminal Justice from Indiana University Bloomington.

• Areas of expertise: Litigation, Business Law, Ethics, Justice and Courts
• Active in community service, including fostering over 40 children

His research interests focus on legal frameworks in business, including Contracts, Employment Discrimination, and Intellectual Property. He has received multiple legal and academic honors, including the prestigious Sagamore of the Wabash award for statewide service.

Irving’s dedication to experiential learning includes organizing courtroom visits for students and co-founding Appeals on Wheels at PNW. He remains a practicing public defender in Lake County juvenile courts and is affiliated with multiple bar associations.
