Shobana Bharadwaj

Shobana Bharadwaj is an Associate Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, where she has served since 2005. She also holds the administrative title of Program Director for the Obstetric Anesthesiology Fellowship at the University of Maryland Medical Center (UMMC).

• Education: MBBS from Madras Medical College (1996), Residency in Anesthesiology at University of Maryland Medical System (2003), Fellowship in Obstetric Anesthesiology (2004).

Her clinical and academic focus centers on obstetric anesthesiology, with expertise in managing high-risk pregnancies, labor analgesia, and perioperative care. She has contributed to medical education through her role as Program Director and has held leadership positions such as Interim Chief of Obstetric Anesthesiology since 2015.
