Shizue Matsubara

Dr. Shizue Matsubara is a Group Leader in the Plant Sciences department (IBG-2) at Forschungszentrum Jülich, specializing in plant physiology and photosynthesis research. She has been an active member of CEPLAS (Cluster of Excellence for Plant Sciences) since 2019, contributing to collaborative research between the University of Cologne and Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf. Her work focuses on understanding how leaf functional traits arise in different genotypes during development and respond to environmental fluctuations.

Dr. Matsubara's research centers on the interface between plant development and metabolism, with emphasis on photosynthetic regulation under dynamic light conditions.
