Professor Shizhang Qiao is an ARC Australian Laureate Fellow at the School of Chemical Engineering, University of Adelaide. He leads the Centre for Materials in Energy and Catalysis (CMEC) and the ARC Training Centre for Battery Recycling. His research focuses on nanostructured materials for energy applications, including catalysis, batteries, fuel cells, and electrochemical systems. With over 570 peer-reviewed publications (h-index 182/194), he has secured over $50M in research grants.
- Education: Doctoral and postdoctoral training in nanotechnology and materials science.
- Awards: South Australian Scientist of the Year (2021), ARC Laureate Fellowships, and multiple fellowships from Australian and international institutions.
Research interests span synthesis of nanostructured materials for energy storage/conversion, including batteries and photocatalytic systems. He has filed seven patents in nanomaterials.
