Dr. Shixiong Wang is a Researcher at the Intelligent Transmission and Processing Laboratory, Imperial College London (since May 2023), and previously a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Institute of Data Science, National University of Singapore (2022–2023). He holds a Ph.D. from the Department of Industrial Systems Engineering and Management at NUS (2022), an M.Eng. from Northwestern Polytechnical University (2018), and a B.Eng. from the same university (2016). His research focuses on statistical signal processing, machine learning, wireless communications, and control systems, with an emphasis on distributionally robust optimization and state estimation.
Education: B.Eng. (2012–2016), M.Eng. (2016–2018), Ph.D. (2018–2022). Notable academic awards include the Distinguished Thesis Award at both the master’s and bachelor’s levels, and multiple scholarships from China and Singapore. He is an active reviewer for IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing and Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement.
Research interests include: probabilistic/statistical theories, optimization, signal processing, control systems, and applications in wireless communications and intelligent transportation. His recent work emphasizes robust algorithms for uncertain systems and machine learning theory.
Publications span distributionally robust state estimation, adaptive beamforming, integrated sensing-communication, and railway safety systems. His contributions address uncertainty-aware signal processing and robust machine learning.
Awards include the Singapore National University Research Scholarship (2018), China National Scholarship (2013, 2015), and Baosteel Scholarship (2015). He has collaborative projects with Professors Wei Dai, Geoffrey Ye Li, and Vincent Tan, focusing on intelligent transmission systems and robust signal processing.
