Shirin Saeedi Bidokhti

Shirin Saeedi Bidokhti is an Assistant Professor at the University of Pennsylvania's School of Engineering and Applied Science with primary appointment in Electrical and Systems Engineering and secondary appointment in Computer and Information Science. She is affiliated with the Warren Center for Network and Data Sciences. She holds M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from EPFL and completed postdoctoral work at Stanford and Technical University of Munich.

Her research focuses on information theory, networking, data compression, and machine learning. Her recent publications demonstrate strong emphasis on neural compression algorithms, network optimization during the COVID-19 pandemic, and age-of-information theory.
