Shima Hajimirza is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Stevens Institute of Technology, affiliated with the Charles V. Schaefer, Jr. School of Engineering and Science. She directs the Energy, Control, and Optimization (ECOlab) lab.
- Education: PhD in Mechanical Engineering (2013, UT Austin), MS in Bioengineering (2010, Caltech), MS in Mechanical Engineering (2009, SIUE)
Research Interests span thermal fluid sciences, radiation heat transfer, inverse problems, and AI-driven modeling. Her work focuses on energy systems, nanoscale energy conversion, and digital twins for energy resilience.
Recent Publications highlight machine learning integration with Monte Carlo ray tracing, radiative property prediction in porous media, and solar energy optimization techniques.
