Shima Gholinezhad is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Aalborg University Hospital's Faculty of Medicine. Her research focuses on biomechanical interventions in orthopaedics, including rotational guided growth techniques, prosthetic design, and surgical innovation. She holds a postdoctoral position and collaborates with institutions like Aalborg University's Department of Clinical Medicine.
Her work combines experimental studies in porcine models, advanced imaging techniques (e.g., surface registration), and translational research in prosthetics. Key areas include bone remodeling mechanisms, implant design optimization, and closed-loop prosthetic control systems.
Recent projects include developing novel plate designs for rotational correction in pediatric orthopaedics and investigating skill acquisition in myoelectric prostheses. She actively participates in academic outreach, such as the 2021 Girls' Day in Science initiative.
