Dr. Shijing Xu is an esteemed academic serving as the Acting Associate Dean of Teacher Education and Canada Research Chair in International and Intercultural Reciprocal Learning in Education at the University of Windsor's Faculty of Education. Her work focuses on fostering cross-cultural educational partnerships, particularly between Canada and China, through initiatives like the Reciprocal Learning Program (RLP). She leads major research projects funded by organizations such as SSHRC and has authored numerous publications on topics ranging from narrative inquiry to comparative education.
Her research interests include West-East reciprocal learning, second language acquisition, and multicultural educational issues. She has supervised over 50 doctoral, master’s, and undergraduate students, many of whom participate in international exchanges through the RLP. Key achievements include a renewed Canada Research Chair (2019–2024) and recognition in the University of Windsor’s Celebration of Excellence.
