Shichun Ling

Shichun Ling is a Faculty member at the School of Criminal Justice and Criminalistics, California State University, Los Angeles. She holds a Ph.D. in Criminology from the University of Pennsylvania and a B.A. in Psychology and Social Behavior from the University of California – Irvine.

Her research bridges biopsychosocial, neurocriminology, and developmental criminology to study antisocial behavior, psychopathy, and callous-unemotional traits. She examines autonomic functioning, brain structure/function, and societal perceptions of criminal justice.

Recent publications explore resting heart rate interactions with empathy, HPA axis responsivity, and neurointerventions in offenders. Her work has been featured in PBS NOVA and The Future is Fantastic.
