California Institute of Technology (Caltech)معرفی
Shi-Zhuo Looi is an Olga Taussky and John Todd Postdoctoral Scholar and Teaching Fellow in Mathematics at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech), within the Division of Physics, Mathematics, and Astronomy. His research focuses on partial differential equations (PDEs), mathematical physics, and analysis, with particular emphasis on wave equations, asymptotic analysis, and nonlinear dynamics. His work explores topics such as Schrödinger equations, Onsager’s conjecture for the SQG equation, and decay rates for waves on various spacetimes, including black hole environments.
His research interests span both theoretical and applied mathematics, including the study of semilinear and quasilinear wave equations, asymptotic behavior in nonstationary spacetimes, and control theory applications to large language models. Looi’s contributions address critical phenomena in PDEs, such as energy-critical nonlinear wave equations and scattering theory under variable coefficients.
While no specific advising or grants are listed, his academic role as a postdoctoral scholar indicates active participation in research and teaching at Caltech. He is affiliated with the Mathematics department and contributes to the vibrant research community within the Division.
