Sheri Booker

Sheri Booker serves as a full-time Lecturer in Multiplatform Production within the School of Global Journalism and Communication at Morgan State University. A Baltimore native, she holds an MFA in Creative Nonfiction from Goucher College and a BS in Political Science from Notre Dame of Maryland University.

Her research centers on storytelling as a tool for social empowerment, particularly through creative nonfiction, poetry, and children's literature that amplifies voices of marginalized communities. Booker's work emphasizes representation for young girls and women in both urban and rural contexts, with international dimensions from her cultural ambassadorship.

Her publications reveal strong thematic focus on African American experiences and identity formation, spanning memoir writing to children's literature addressing racial equity. Booker's creative output consistently intersects with social justice advocacy and cultural documentation.
