Shengyi Qian

Shengyi Qian is a researcher at the CMA Key Laboratory for Climate Prediction Studies within the School of Atmospheric Sciences, Nanjing University, China. His work focuses on Arctic climate dynamics, extratropical cyclones, and their impacts on synoptic-scale variability of the Arctic Oscillation (AO). Using high-resolution NCEP CFSR data and advanced methodologies like piecewise potential vorticity inversion (PPVI), he investigates how cyclone fluxes between the Arctic and subpolar regions influence AO patterns, particularly during cold seasons.
