Shema Frédéric MITALI is an Assistant Professor of Finance at SKEMA Business School, affiliated with the Transformation Academy and the Financial and Accounting Insights on Risk and Regulation (FAIRR) research center. He holds a PhD in Finance from the University of Warwick, a Master’s in Financial Engineering from HEC Lausanne, and a BSc in Business Administration from the University of Geneva. His research focuses on sustainable finance, ESG investing, text analysis, and the implications of information economics in financial markets.
Key research interests include green bonds, investor behavior in ESG contexts, and the application of textual analysis to mutual fund prospectuses. His work bridges behavioral finance and sustainable development, with recent studies exploring how text-based uncertainties influence investment decisions and how discretionary information shapes ESG investment strategies.
MITALI has presented at leading venues such as the MIT CEEPR Workshop, the SFS Cavalcade, and the Cornell University ESG Conference. His publications appear in the Journal of Banking and Finance and SKEMA working papers series. He has received grants including the GIWM Research Award and Swiss National Science Foundation support.
As part of his academic role, he contributes to peer review for journals like Journal of Corporate Finance and organizes the Geneva Summit on Sustainable Finance. His current research emphasizes the intersection of technology (text analytics) and finance, particularly in ESG-driven market dynamics.
