Shelby Kmidowski is an Assistant Professor of Practice in the Department of Entomology at Texas A&M University, specializing in Forensic Science and Law. She teaches in the Forensic and Investigative Sciences (FIVS) program, emphasizing undergraduate education. Her professional background includes toxicological and drug testing at the Texas A&M Veterinary Medical Diagnostic Laboratory (TVMDL). She holds a B.A. in Biochemistry from Duquesne University (2022) with minors in Mathematics, Biology, and Pre-Law, followed by an M.S. in Forensic Science and Law (2023).
Her research interests intersect forensic science, legal systems, and animal toxicology. Recent publications include work on photographic documentation standards in sexual assault cases and contributions to undergraduate research symposium programs. Currently based in College Station, she relocated with her fiancé and pets to establish careers in Texas.
