Sheila Riggs

Sheila Riggs is an Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Primary Dental Care at the University of Minnesota's School of Dentistry. She leads community engagement initiatives for the University's Clinical and Translational Science Institute, focusing on improving oral health access and equity in Minnesota.

Her research and policy work centers on addressing systemic barriers to dental care, promoting health communication, and advancing diversity and inclusion in healthcare delivery. Riggs bridges clinical practice, epidemiology, and corporate leadership to drive community-focused solutions.

She serves on the Board of Directors for the Hennepin Health System, the Cargill Foundation, and the Minnesota Hospital Association. As founder of the "Get to Yes with DHS" work group, she advocates for collaborative policy outcomes.
