Shea Rose

Dr. Shea Rose is Professor and Program Coordinator of Geography at the University of West Georgia's Dr. Perry College of Mathematics, Computing, and Sciences. Her research integrates Geographic Information Science, atmospheric studies, and sustainability, funded by DOE, USGS, and ED grants. She developed teacher workshops integrating energy challenges into STEM curricula and was selected for the NSF/Lockheed Martin-sponsored 'School of Ice' program.

Research trends focus on urban climatology, environmental monitoring, and climate education. Recent publications analyze solar irradiance during eclipses, wetland LiDAR applications, and pedagogical innovations in climatology. Earlier work at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory's Heat Island Group examined urban fabric impacts on microclimates.
