Shawn Tinghao Wang

Shawn Tinghao Wang is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Philosophy at the University of Washington. His research focuses on ethics and moral psychology, advocating a functionalist and pluralist approach to blame while emphasizing underappreciated emotions like shame and embarrassment. He also explores intellectual humility, pride, and the role of intuitions in epistemology.

Before joining UW, he was a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Salzburg (Austria). He earned his Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of California, San Diego in 2022. His contact information includes an office in Savery Hall and regular office hours.
