Shawn McKee is a Researcher in the Department of Physics at the University of Michigan, focusing on large-scale scientific collaborations and cyberinfrastructure development to support fundamental physics discoveries and the computing foundations enabling these advancements.

He serves as Director of the ATLAS Great Lakes Tier-2 Center, overseeing a U.S. regional computing hub for the ATLAS experiment at CERN. Additionally, he has been the OSG Networking Lead and USATLAS/WLCG Network Project Manager since 2001, driving network infrastructure development for high-energy physics collaborations. As Founding Director of the Center for Network and Storage-Enabled Collaborative Computational Science (MICDE) from 2016 to 2022, he led initiatives to strengthen computational research infrastructure at Michigan.
McKee is a member of the American Physical Society, Association for Computing Machinery, and the Michigan Institute for Computational Discovery and Engineering. He is affiliated with the Randall Lab and Homer A. Neal Lab at the University of Michigan.
