Shaul Tor is a Reader in Ancient Philosophy at King’s College London, affiliated with the Departments of Classics and Philosophy within the Faculty of Arts & Humanities. He holds a PhD from the University of Cambridge (2011) and has held positions including a Junior Research Fellowship at Jesus College, Cambridge (2010-2012). His research focuses on ancient philosophy and religion, early Greek thought, and Hellenistic scepticism. Notable awards include the Philip Leverhulme Prize (2018) and the Hare Prize for his doctoral work on early Greek epistemology. His publications span analyses of Heraclitus, Parmenides, and Xenophanes, often exploring intersections between theology, language, and philosophical inquiry. He actively contributes to academic discourse through peer-reviewed articles, book chapters, and reviews, and has ongoing research projects on ancient Greek philosophy funded by the Leverhulme Trust and the British Academy.
