Sharon E. Abramovitz

Dr. Sharon E. Abramovitz is an Associate Professor of Anesthesiology in Clinical Obstetrics and Gynecology at Weill Cornell Medical College, Cornell University, and an Associate Attending Anesthesiologist at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. She specializes in Obstetric Anesthesiology and has held leadership roles, including Director of Obstetric Anesthesiology since 2015 and Co-Director from 2004–2015. Her expertise extends to anesthesia services beyond the operating room, including ambulatory surgery and GI endoscopy. She actively contributes to hospital committees focused on quality and patient safety in both Anesthesiology and Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Dr. Abramovitz earned her M.D. from Albert Einstein College of Medicine (1994), completed her Anesthesiology residency at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell, and a fellowship in obstetric anesthesiology at Mount Sinai Hospital. She joined the faculty in 1999.

Her clinical interests include perioperative care for obstetric patients and diverse surgical specialties. She is board-certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology and leads anesthesia services in ambulatory settings.
