Shanti Gamper-Rabindran is a Professor at the University of Pittsburgh’s School of Public & International Affairs, specializing in energy transition policies, fossil fuel-dependent communities, and environmental economics. She holds a Ph.D. in Economics from MIT (2001), M.Sc. from Oxford (1999), and dual B.A. degrees from Harvard (1994) and Oxford (1996). Her research bridges political, economic, and legal barriers to renewable energy adoption, with notable works including America’s Energy Gamble (2022) and The Shale Dilemma (2018).
