Shannon Trecartin is Professor and Chair of the School of Social Work at Andrews University. She holds a PhD from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville (2016), an MSW from Andrews University (2008), and a BSW from Southern Adventist University (2005). With practice experience in medical social work and counseling, she has taught since 2008 and leads research on aging, disabilities, and trauma.
Research Focus
Her work examines how social and environmental factors influence well-being, emphasizing disability justice, LGBTQ+ experiences in religious communities, and trauma-informed care. She frequently collaborates with the International Center for Trauma Education and Care and publishes on mental health, faith, and marginalization.

Advising
