Shannon McCutchen

Shannon McCutchen is a Lecturer in the School of Accounting at the University of South Carolina's Darla Moore School of Business. With over 15 years of teaching experience, she joined USC in 2016 after holding positions at the College of Charleston, Georgia State University, and Texas A&M University. Her professional background includes auditing roles at Fleet Mortgage and First Citizens Bank.

She teaches foundational accounting courses including Survey of Accounting (ACCT 222) and Introduction to Financial Accounting (ACCT 225), focusing on financial statement analysis and decision-making frameworks. Her pedagogical approach emphasizes practical application of accounting principles for business students.

Prior to academia, she worked as an internal auditor and brings industry insights into curriculum development. She holds a Master of Arts in Teaching in Business Education from the University of South Carolina and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Clemson University.
