Dr Shannon Faulkhead is a Research Fellow at the Monash Indigenous Studies Centre (MISC), Monash University, holding the prestigious Finkel Fellowship. As a Koorie woman from Victoria, she leads visual interpretation initiatives for Indigenous narratives and history through the Monash Country Lines Archive project.
Her academic foundation includes a PhD focused on Narratives of Koorie Victoria, reflecting deep engagement with Indigenous storytelling traditions. Educational background centers on Indigenous knowledge systems and historical documentation.
Research spans Indigenous epistemologies, decolonial methodologies, and digital heritage preservation. She pioneers visual translation of oral histories, specializing in Koorie Victorian narratives through multimedia archiving. Current work emphasizes community-led representation of Aboriginal heritage using digital cartography and 3D modeling.
