Dr. Shanetia Clark is a Professor of Literacy and Department Chair in the Department of Early and Elementary Education at Salisbury University. She holds a PhD in Curriculum and Instruction/Language and Literacy Education from Pennsylvania State University (2006). Prior to her academic role, she taught 7th grade English in Richmond, Virginia, and served as Site-Director of the Capital Area Writing Project in Pennsylvania. Her research focuses on literacy education, curriculum development, and middle-level pedagogy. She currently co-edits Voices from the Middle, the National Council of Teachers of English's peer-reviewed journal for middle-level educators.
Dr. Clark also serves as the Creative Arts Minor Advisor and actively engages in service activities and community relations. Her professional roles emphasize bridging classroom practice with scholarly innovation in early and elementary education.
