Dr Shane Pritchard is an Adjunct Lecturer in Physiotherapy at Monash University's School of Primary and Allied Health Care since 2021. He previously held roles as Lecturer and Teaching Associate in the same school (2017–2021). His primary clinical role is as a Physiotherapist at Advance Healthcare Dandenong, specializing in chronic pain management and musculoskeletal rehabilitation. He also directs an organization supporting international physiotherapists' registration in Australia and serves as Victorian branch Secretary for the Australian Physiotherapy Association Educators committee.
Dr Pritchard's research focuses on simulation-based education, planetary health curriculum design, and sustainable healthcare integration. Notable projects include leading the Pedagogical Effectiveness research network at Monash and co-designing planetary health curricula through design thinking approaches. He has contributed to studies on peer simulation efficacy, clinical placement models in private practice, and pain counseling protocols.
His awards include two Best Early Career Research Paper Awards (2019). Key publications explore innovative simulation methodologies, thresholds for physiotherapy competency, and co-design strategies for global health education. Dr Pritchard actively engages in educational initiatives addressing climate change adaptation in health professions training and sustainable healthcare systems.
