Associate Professor Shandell Elmer (PhD, University of Tasmania) is a leading public health researcher and educator at the School of Nursing, College of Health and Medicine, University of Tasmania. As lead of the Health Literacy and Equity Research Unit and Course Coordinator for the Bachelor of Nursing with Honours, she bridges nursing practice with impact-focused research. Her work emphasizes participatory methodologies and co-design processes to address health literacy gaps in marginalized populations, aligning with UN Sustainable Development Goals 3, 10, 16, and 4.
