Shan Wang is a Senior Lecturer at Middlesex University, affiliated with the Department of Accounting, Finance & Economics within the Faculty of Business and Law. Currently completing a Ph.D. at CEEDR, Middlesex University, her research focuses on the effectiveness of Social Investment Tax Relief in supporting social enterprises during their start-up phase. She holds a Fellowship from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and has over 10 years of experience in the charities sector, working with organizations in higher education, construction, childcare, and vocational education.
- Roles: Programme Leader of the BA (Hons) Business Accounting Programme, Director of MDX Tax and Accounting Clinic, and Senior Lecturer since 2017.
- Teaching: Leads courses in Accounting Information Systems, Advanced Financial Data Analysis, Corporate Finance, Taxation, Financial Accounting, and Virtual Internships.
Her professional background includes roles as a business partner, senior financial accountant, and tax accountant within charity organizations. Her research and teaching interests emphasize taxation, financial project management, and the intersection of public policy with social enterprise financing.
