معرفی
Dr. Shan Jiang is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Mississippi, specializing in computational solid mechanics and multiscale materials modeling. He holds dual Ph.D. degrees in Civil Engineering and Computational Mechanics. His research investigates mechanical responses of materials under extreme conditions, additive manufacturing processes, thermomechanical behavior of nanomaterials, and metal extraction techniques for space applications.
Dr. Jiang's work has been funded by NSF, NASA, and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. He develops computational approaches including molecular dynamics simulations, material point method, and dissipative particle dynamics to study phenomena such as shock wave propagation, nanoparticle sintering, and polymer composite behavior. Recent publications explore Martian regolith processing, lunar construction technologies, and high-resolution hybrid printing for electronics.
His research group focuses on solving problems related to in-space manufacturing, advanced structural materials, and energy-absorbing composites. Dr. Jiang maintains collaborative relationships with researchers nationally and internationally to advance computational materials science.
