Shamus Smith is a Doctoral Lecturer at the Department of Law, Police Science, and Criminal Justice Administration, John Jay College of Criminal Justice, CUNY. His expertise spans Criminal Justice policy, crime prevention, law enforcement practices, and issues related to sexual violence. He holds a PhD in Criminal Justice from the CUNY Graduate Center (2023) and has extensive professional experience including service with the NYPD (2005–2016) and the New York City Department of Investigation (2016–2019). Currently, he also serves in the New Jersey Army National Guard.
